Airlie Beach 23 Christmas Day

Woke up even earlier with great difficulty. We sailed back towards Airlie beach.

It was another scorcher. Went snorkelling. Saw a huge green turtle. I was able to keep up with him so I followed for while in the hope that he'd come up to the surface. He didn't and eventually changed gear and disappeared. We sailed on and stopped for the Captain's Revenge. This consisted of a rubber ring pulled by a speedpoat driven by Sean. The object was to hold on for as long as you could. I went first and fell off twice.

Got back to Airlie Beach knackered and slept for a few hours. Met the lads from the Anaconda II. They reckoned we got a good deal. It would have been a different story if Jade was full thogh. Got up for a barbecue. The clubs were open at twelve so we celebrated Christmas til late. Leaving the club overheard a guy saying he was going back to play his drum. I said I hadn't played a drum in ages so he invited me back. He was John from New Zealand and there was a touch of the new age traveller about his house. We played the drum for a while and he decided to bring it back into club and play it. I had to see this so I followed himm down. You couldn't hear the beats at all with the disco. I thought he was going to get miked up or something. Back to base.
