Got the train to Freo and the ferry to Rottnest Island. Rented snorkeling gear. Snorkeled at the Basin. Nice beach. Then on to Little Parakeet bay. Better snorkeling there. Would have stayed for longer but had to get the ferry at 4:30. Worth staying a night due to quantity of beautiful beaches. Slightly spoiled by too many holiday homes. The highlight of Perth. In the hostel Sean from England had his guitar out. I volunteered to bring down the tambourine. Sean played some of his own tunes. Solid. All of a sudden it was one tune each between Sean, Mac and myself. I proposed to Ian the hostelier to put a sign up outside "All night guitar session. Only $5. BYOB". 10% cut for him. This was understandably rejected. |
