Met a bloke from Antrim in the Internet cafe first thing. He was on his way back to Sydney having been in Thailand. Went to Raffles hotel. Very impressive building. Great history. Way too many fancy shops. On the way to a skyscraper, by chance met the Antrim lad named Geordie. Weren't allowed up the skyscraper cos we had shorts and sandals on. This was the only aspect of Singapore strictness that really annoyed me. You'd have a better chance of concealing a bomb with long trousers. Plus I had just been wandering alone around rooms full of antiques in Raffles. Back to the Internet cafe which has about 40 PCs. Geordie wanders in by chance and gets given the PC next to me. Unbelievable. We had to have a pint after that and he told a few Joey Dunlop stories. Off to the airport to fly to Perth. Sat next to Doris, a 75 year old Englishwoman who had just flown from London, 3 hour break in Singapore and off to Perth to meet her daughter who she hadn't seen in 3 years. More power to her.
